We started out as a handful of women supporting our children and husbands in the first deployment to Iraq in 2003. Almost immediately they gave us the names of other Marines and soldiers who also needed our prayers and support. After that, the list just kept growing. Our group of supporters grew, too, and Prayer Angels for the Military was officially founded July 14, 2004.
Recognized by the city of Santa Clarita and Los Angeles county, our Prayer Angels have supported local troops and those from surrounding areas with prayers and care packages throughout their many deployments. They are all in our hearts and prayers and we will continue supporting them until they all come home. Together, working side by side with community members of all ages, we have supported thousands of troops and sent tens of thousands of care packages. We mail them out all year long and make them extra special
for the holidays. Deployed troops without families are also supported as our own. Care packages are also lovingly made for wounded warriors, hospitalized veterans, homeless veterans and military families with extreme hardships. We are all volunteers at Prayer Angels for the Military, which includes military families, veterans, schools, youth groups, businesses, churches and community members. Our group includes many Blue Star Families with loved ones currently on active duty, Gold Star Families of our local fallen heroes and SCV Young Marines. Our military families share a special bond and are always supportive of each other.
Donate A Car Program is available year round, along with Donate A Book Drive (large print books & audio books for wounded warriors and hospitalized veterans), Winter Warm Drive for handmade scarves, hats, blankets & quilts, Operation Cup A Joe and Treats for Troops.
Prayer Angels for the Military hosts many community events to honor and support our military. The annual Hearts for Heroes Event, Operation Forget Me Not, Armed Forces Day Event, Independence Day Event, 4th of July Military Parade Float, 9/11 Patriots Day Event, Halloween "Treats for Troops", Operation Thank Our Troops, Thanksgiving Gift Baskets/Meals, Holiday Collection Drive for Warm Blankets & Scarves, Holiday Gift Baskets/Meals and the Military Honor Christmas Tree Lighting.
